Karl Orozco is an artist and educator specializing in illustration, comics, printmaking and animation. His work has been commissioned by the New York Public Library, UpWorthy, the Asian Arts Initiative and 18 Million Rising, and he has silkscreened posters for musical acts such as Bruno Mars, Yo La Tengo, Das Racist and Guided by Voices. Karl is the creator of Pink Matter, an ongoing comic chronicling inquisitive Ira Irving and her adventures on her motherland Polo, and the co-creator of #1 Chinese Restaurant, a communal comic that examines the effects of a definitive ranking system on Chinese restaurants across the United States. Karl recently contributed comics to New Frontiers – an anthology of sci-fi comics honoring actor George Takei’s life – that take place in what was once the Colorado Rockies.
