Art by James McFarland
One of the primary missions at DINK is to make a conscious effort to cut back on convention waste. Conventions are beacons for plastic bottles, large quantities of printed paper, and trash, it is our aim to provide solutions that help reduce the overall environmental impact of DINK while simultaneously giving back to the community through social change, education, opportunity, and inspiration. We pledge to promote the long-term growth of this community. By making a commitment to the environment, we can ensure that future generations can continue to benefit from the arts.
DINK DENVER: GREENING THE COMICS SCENE
With a focus on locally curated goods DINK will place an emphasis on vendors who source their products with environmental or organic methods in mind. It is our aim to help not only help foster community growth, but also contribute to the vibrant and creative community that calls Colorado home.
DINK is committed to using only 100% post-consumer recycled paper and soy-based inks (whenever possible) for all our printed materials.
TRASH, RECYCLING and COMPOST!
The DINK team is working towards providing a more sustainable means of eliminating event waste through a new trash, recycling and compost program during the event. More details will be announced soon.
DINK can only be as green as it’s participants. Bring your own reusable shopping bags for purchases and don’t forget to bring your own water bottles!
LEAVE NO TRACE
Help us be stewards of this beautiful convention hall and the gorgeous Mile High city by working to make DINK a “Leave No Trace” event. Use recycle and compost receptacles whenever possible, and help keep the area free of litter outside the Expo. Together, we can set an example for the independent comics community around the world..
