Some kids play sports, some play Fortnite, some get lost on SnapChat while some produce and star in feature length Sci Fi films. Enter The Tomorrow Makers: A student run film production company based out of Denver and Commerce City. The Tomorrow Makers are proof that you can do a lot with a little bit. They do it all: from making costumes, shooting a battle scenes with over 60 extras in a street, to creating their own merch and marketing campaigns! In this panel the students/ actors and writer director Marcos Garibay will talk about their creative process, inspiration, the bumps in the road and how they overcome them and take some Q/A. Additionally, the world premier of the brand new trailer for The Tomorrow Makers Volume One will be take place during this panel! Moderators: Marcos Garibay

From self-promotion, marketing, and brand-building to directly disseminating one’s art, Instagram, Twitter, and other such platforms are now an integral part of a cartoonist’s career. But while it can give artists one more avenue to engage in a community, the pressure to build a fanbase can also be overwhelming or lead to trolling and harassment. LDCI was crowdfunded in 2013 on kickstarter.com. With a small team of animators, Bakshi set out to create a 22 minute short film about the seedy characters that inhabited the more run-down parts of Coney Island in the 1960s. The panel will delve into the art style of the film - how Ralph created his patchwork, collage style backgrounds and matched them with even sketchier animated characters.
